The ProgramDTU logo

The DTU exchange program is open to Engineering, CCI, and Biomedical Engineering majors. Students are fully immersed into the education, culture and daily life of Denmark. This is a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and explore your academic interests from a different perspective. For more information please visit  DTU's International Student Website.

The Academics

DTU offers a variety of courses in English. Majors offered at DTU include:  Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering and Physics. Please consult the DTU Course Catalog for more details.

List of DTU courses that have been pre-approved for Drexel equivalents: DTU - Drexel Course Equivalents

If you would like to take courses from the catalog that are not listed on the above course equivalents spreadsheet, you will need to have equivalents approved by the appropriate department. For example, if you want to take a sociology course for Drexel credit, the Sociology Department at Drexel must pre- approve the course and equivalency.

Students may also choose to study Danish language at the nearby language school, Hellerup Sprogskole, for an additional fee. Interested students may sign up for these languages courses directly with DTU at the start of the semester.

Program calendar

The DTU academic calendar is available here.

DTU is a semester based school. The program is available to Drexel students during DTU's Fall semester:

* Start - Early Sept (before summer term ends)
* End - Mid-Dec (before winter term begins)

* Students with summer term classes should be prepared to request early finals so they can leave for Denmark in late August/ early September. Students on spring/summer co-op will need to arrange to leave their co-op early.

Due to the potential need to adjust academic and co-op cycles, students are urged to begin planning 12 months prior to their intended study abroad term.

All students are required to obtain a visa prior to entry into Denmark.

Money Matters

This is a Drexel-sponsored program, and thus all of your financial aid travels with you. If you are interested in seeking additional funding, you should consider applying for study abroad Scholarship & Funding Opportunities. Remember that scholarship deadlines may be much earlier than study abroad deadlines, so plan accordingly.
