Global Sustainable Leadership

Program Overview

Thinking (A)broad: Global Sustainable Leadership is a 4-credit business elective offered during the spring term 2019 that includes a 6 night/7-day Intensive Course Abroad portion to London and Oxford England from April 1-7, which includes participation in the Student Global Leadership Conference hosted by the Foundation for International Education (FIE).

  • The course will include a study of leadership theory and practice, and team roles and dynamics, viewed from a global perspective, with reflection and goal setting individually using styles, examples and experiences.
  • The experiential learning and global classroom portion of the itinerary will include participation in the Student Global Leadership Conference, hosted by the Foundation for International Education in London, England in April 2019, as well as collaborative work with faculty and students from Leeds University (UK).
  • Assignments and projects will use research, dialogue, guests, interviews, film, cases and development tools.
  • Time is designated for cultural events, including a City Tour and time in Oxford.
  • It is an opportunity to attend a leadership conference allowing insight into business (team and leadership development specifically) as well as sustainability in a global environment; students will developing relationships with other international institution participants in attendance..
  • These are great resume talking points.  The group is going to learn a lot, share ideas, have fun and create memories too!


Credit/RegistrationICA London Global Conferene
This combined on-campus/abroad course is BUSN T380 for 4 credits and serves as a business elective for Spring Term 2019. Students will be enrolled upon acceptance of their application.

On-Campus Class Schedule: Hybrid (3 Wednesday evenings)

Preference will be given to students who were enrolled Global Classroom sections of BUSN101 and BUSN102, taught by Professors Jodi Cataline and Dana D’Angelo in prior academic years.

Program Fee - $1,300 for 2019

Due November 15th, 2018 - $500 Advance Payment
Due January 15th, 2019 - $800 Final Payment
*All payments are non-refundable unless declined admission or program cancels for unforeseen reasons.

The program fee includes on ground expenses – transport, tours and programs, lodging, daily breakfast and several other meals– and is offset by contributions from Drexel and LeBow support.

Included in Program Fee:

  • Double or triple occupancy hotel accommodations in Earl’s Court area of London
  • FIE conference registration fee
  • Breakfast and wifi
  • Other meals per day, including a Welcome Dinner and and several group lunchICA London Global Conference
  • Pre-paid Oyster Card for the London Underground
  • Two cultural tours (tentatively a City Tour and Oxford)
  • Emergency evacuation insurance

Not Included in Program Fee:

  • $25 application fee

More Information

  • Visa: US citizens are not required to obtain a visa for entry to the UK. Other nationalities must confirm on the UK Embassy website whether a visa is required for entry.
