Drexel Spring Break in the UK:
Fashion and Footwear in London

London Scenery View

Program Overview

This Intensive Course Abroad is designed for Fashion Design majors who would like to experience London through the lens of its rich fashion and footwear industries. In partnership with London College of Fashion (LCF), students will attend lectures, workshops, and tours which focus on the design, making, and innovation happening in the London footwear market. Topics include shoemaking, patterning, conventional and knit sneaker upper design and fabrication, material innovation, and CLO and Rhino technologies in the market. Conceptual footwear to mass market will be explored. At the conclusion of this program, in a post-trip critique, students will complete and present a footwear focused research presentation.

This program is ONLY open to Fashion Design majors who are Juniors and Seniors, with priority given to Seniors.

Students will be registered for FASH T380, Fashion and Footwear in London, for 3 credits as a part of their spring term course load. Students must leave space for these 3 credits in their schedule or will otherwise be billed for exceeding the 20-credit term maximum.

Pre-req: FASH 353, Fashion Design II Knitwear
