Week 1 Finished and Liverpool 10/05/2015 at 9:39 AM EDT

The beauty of England and Europe is the ability to get anywhere via different modes of Transportation. Of course the United States is an amazing country with vast lands to offer different lifestyles and opportunities but England is the same way. Except on a much smaller scale. I was lucky enough to be approached by a couple of German friends to attend a Football match at the iconic Anfield, home of Liverpool FC. Some people may think of the Beatles when they think of Liverpool. However for me it's been Liverpool FC. The club is one of the most iconic franchises in the world with a passionate fan base of Scousers. The picture attached is fans singing the iconic song, "You'll Never Walk Alone". Even though my friends and I hoped on a train right up to the Northwest coast and it was a little less than a couple of hours, you would hop off finding a completely different accent and way of life. The city of Liverpool finds itself on the water and it is linked historically with the Titanic setting sail from its port. The office of the cruise line was based there and the city still holds its history of the Titanic. I went on the steps of where they announced the sinking to the public. The ability to jump on a high-speed train for cheap is something the US could really use.

I would like to report that a car hasn't hit me yet... It always would take me another few seconds to cross the road because I would be worried about looking the wrong way. Thankfully on/around campus they have signs telling you the correct way to look when crossing. Some things that my fellow peers always ask me about are the reason we have guns in the States, why don't we have healthcare or take care of our poor, and just questions about the lifestyle in the States. I try to answer those best I can! Another thing I get asked if I understand the English accent well, it is not too hard for me to understand but sometimes you have people that you just cant understand at all, you say to yourself... is that even English?

I have found some good American food spots. There are plenty of places that are American Diner and Burger themed, Multinational Corporations like McDonalds (not that I go there often), and places that pitch Southern Fried Chicken with BBQ sauce. So far, the places I have visited have passed the test but aren't anywhere close to the real thing.

As for Professors and their classes, I have found that there is a very extensive system of recording the lectures and then posting them on a school website which we can replay the lecture. I find that very rarely in the Business or General Education classes in the States. Most of the classes do grades weighted heavily on one final exam. Whereas at Drexel, you find various assignments, midterms, exams, and participation put all together.

In the back and forth amongst my peers, I have learned so many new things and information that I will bring back with me. A funny thing I heard from a Polish friend who keeps up with the American news and the election is that Jeb Bush's name is part of a curse word in Polish. Jeb is part of that bad phrase. Talk about foreign policy!

One week of classes down and onto the next week!
